Lydia Roberts Promoted to Art Director

(November 18, 2009) ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Lydia Roberts has been promoted to the position of Art Director.

Roberts holds a BA in Multimedia Arts and Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. In addition to the exceptional work she has produced for ClearPoint over the past two years as Graphic Designer, she has also done award-winning work for a variety of clients that include Garcia and Associates, Asheville Movement Center, the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and the University of Washington.

ClearPoint Moves to Downtown Asheville

(October 16, 2009) ClearPoint Marketing Communications has announced its move to new offices at 9 West Walnut Street, Suite 1A, in downtown Asheville. The new location provides convenient access to the six-year-old Asheville-based agency for both local and out-of-town clients.

“The convenience of the new location is a big plus for our staff as well as clients," said ClearPoint President Brenda Murphree.

ClearPoint President Represents AAF Asheville at District Advertising Conference

(August 13, 2009) ClearPoint President Brenda Murphree represented the Asheville Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) at the District 3 Leadership Conference held August 7-8 in Virgina Beach. AAF District 3 includes clubs in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. As president of AAF Asheville, the AAF affiliate for Western North Carolina, she attended, along with three other board members, Bob Boeberitz (Bob Boeberitz Design), Martha Dugger (Martha Dugger, Art Director), and Dwayne Long (Carolina Marketing Group).

ClearPoint President Represents AAF Asheville at National Advertising Conference

(June 15, 2009) - ClearPoint President Brenda Murphree recently attended the National Conference of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), held June 3-6, 2009, in Washington, DC. As president of the AAF club for Western North Carolina, AAF-Asheville, Brenda represented the club at the conference, attended the national ADDY Awards Presentation, and attended workshops in club management, social media, digital creativity, alternative brand marketing, and more.

Jacqueline Standafer Joins ClearPoint

(May 18, 2009) ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Jacqueline Standafer has joined the agency as Design Assistant.

Jacqueline is a graduate of Western Carolina University and holds a BFA in Graphic Design. She describes herself as an artist, writer, illustrator, organizer, educator, and a life long learner.

Jordan Alter-Sorin Joins ClearPoint

(April 8, 2009) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Jordan Alter-Sorin has joined the agency team as a summer intern.

Jordan is a graduating senior in the Linworth Program of Worthington Schools in Worthington, Ohio, an alternative program aimed at fully engaging students in their learning process through experiential education. The summer intern program, called Walkabout, allows students to gain real world experience in areas of interest before moving on to higher education.

“The Linworth Program offers an exceptional learning opportunity to high school students,” said Brenda Murphree, President of ClearPoint. “We’ve pleased to have the opportunity to be part of this unique educational experience.”

ClearPoint Receives ADDY Award

(February 28, 2009) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications was awarded a Silver ADDY for excellence in advertising at the local Addy Awards Banquet in Greenville, SC today. The ADDYs are sponsored by the American Advertising Federation as part of their mission to cultivate the highest creative standards in the industry. The AAF, headquartered in Washington, D.C., has a national network of 200 ad clubs and 40,000 members.

Lisa Dobbins Promoted to Accounting Manager

(January 1, 2009) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Lisa Dobbins has been promoted to Accounting Manager.

Dobbins holds an Associates of Applied Science degree in Accounting from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. She has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.

(January, 2009) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications has been selected to provide consulting and marketing planning for Lines Unlimited through the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAA), a federal program that assists U.S. manufacturers affected by import competition. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce and administered through 11 regional offices, this program helps to provide industry-specific experts for projects that improve a manufacturer’s competitiveness. Lines Unlimited is a Kernersville, NC based company that provides precision laser cut products to the custom furniture industry, architectural millwork companies, machine shops, fabricators, and die-cast parts manufacturers.

Brenda Murphree Elected President of American Advertising Federation of Asheville

(January, 2009) – ClearPoint President, Brenda Murphree, has been elected president of the newly formed American Advertising Federation of Asheville (AAF-Asheville), a local chapter of the national AAF, serving advertising, marketing, and industry professionals throughout Western North Carolina.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications Receives Three International Davey Awards

(October 30, 2008) – The International Academy of the Visual Arts announced today that Asheville based ClearPoint Marketing has won a gold and two silver awards in their 2008 Davey Award competition.

The Davey Awards honors the finest creative from the best small firms, agencies, and companies worldwide. The competition is judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 200+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts including: Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Yahoo!, Estee Lauder, Wired, Insight Interactive, The Webby Awards, Bath & Body Works, Brandweek, Polo Ralph Lauren, ADWEEK, Victoria’s Secret, MTV, the Ellen Degeneres Show, Myspace.com, and many others.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications ClearPoint Wins Four 2008 American Graphic Design Awards

(September 15, 2008) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications of Asheville has been selected by American Graphic Design USA (AGDUSA) as a multiple winner in the 2008 American Graphic Design Awards, which honors outstanding work in graphic design.

For more than four decades, the AGDUSA has sponsored national design competitions that spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity for creative professionals. The American Graphic Design Awards is the biggest and broadest of these open to everyone in the community, including advertising agencies, graphic design firms, corporations, institutions, and publishers, and it honors outstanding work across all media.

ClearPoint was honored with awards for agency self-promotion and client work in the categories of brochure design, poster design and direct mail. The client work selected for awards was produced for Core Installations, an Asheville-based audio-visual sales and installations firm.

Katherine Quinn Joins ClearPoint Marketing Communications

(August 18, 2008) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Katherine Quinn has joined the agency as a Client Services Assistant.

Quinn is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a BS in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. She previously worked as an advertising coordinator with the American Red Cross in Cullowhee, NC.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications Adds Distinguished Award to List

(June 18, 2008) – ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that it has received the Award of Distinction from the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA).

The Communicator Awards, judged and administered by IAVA, is an annual competition which honors the best in creative excellence for communications professionals. This year's competition included more than 8,500 entries. ClearPoint Marketing Communications picked up the award in the print category for a self-promotion piece.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications Receives Six International Awards

(May 13, 2008) – Hermes Creative Awards announced today that Asheville based ClearPoint Marketing Communications has received six awards in their international competition.

“While the primary focus of our creative work is producing bottom-line results for our clients, it is extremely gratifying to receive validation from the international marketing community” said Brenda Murphree, President of ClearPoint.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications’ work competed with 4000 entries from the United States and several other countries. They received two platinum and two gold awards, along with two honorable mentions. The work was judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization that looks for companies like ClearPoint, whose creative talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the marketing industry.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications Announces Staff Additions

(February 1, 2008) - ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Jillian Hosley has joined the agency as Graphic Design Assistant. Hosley trained at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and McDowell Technical Community College. She has been a graphic designer for a magazine production group and a freelance designer working in a variety of industries.

ClearPoint also announced that Lauren Priestley has been named Public Relations Assistant. Priestley is a 2008 graduate of Western Carolina University with a BS in communications. She has worked as a public relations/marketing intern at WestCare-Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC.

Tanya Fletcher Joins ClearPoint Marketing Communications

(January 4, 2008) - ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Tanya Fletcher has joined the agency as Office Manager.

Fletcher holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Florida and has studied abroad at the University of Cost Rica. She has held a variety of management positions, including Assistant Manager, Onboard Media (Miami); Operations Manager, Compbiz (Orlando); Marketing and Operations Director, Swopper USA (Reno); and Associate Publisher, Sierra Nevada Kids Directory (Reno). She is also fluent in Spanish.

"Tanya has broad experience in operations management and marketing, so she is a perfect fit for this position. (December 20, 2007) - ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Audrey McGimsey has been promoted to Art Director.

McGimsey, an honors graduate of Western Carolina University with a BFA in graphic design, has design experience in a wide array of industries that include retail, technology, financial, education, and healthcare. In her new role, she will assume management responsibility for the agency's art department and staff.

Randy Robinson Joins ClearPoint Marketing Communications

(July 15, 2007) - ClearPoint Marketing Communications announced today that Randy Robinson has joined the agency as Vice President of Client Services.

Robinson, a native of Asheville and a graduate of UNCA, has served in a variety of marketing positions, including Vice President, Lewis Advertising; Senior Vice President of Marketing, Franchise Enterprises; and President, Catseye Marketing. He has worked with clients in a wide range of industries that include McDonald's, Hardee's, Texas Steakhouses, Pepsi, Avada Hearing and Balance, Automatic Bankcard Systems, and U.S. Cellular, as well as numerous North Carolina and Virginia tourism development authorities.

ClearPoint Marketing Communications Wins Award For Creative Excellence

(May 1, 2007) - ClearPoint Marketing Communications was awarded first place for outstanding Direct Mail Campaign by the Public Relations Association of Western North Carolina (PRAWNC) in its annual competition. The winning work was a successful holiday mailing, "Tis the Season," for the Asheville Vein Center & Medical Spa. PRAWNC's annual "Best of the Mountains" competition honors the work of Western North Carolina agencies and creative professionals in advertising, marketing and public relations.
